HeltHjem is perhaps the easiest way to send and receive packages, and they have therefore become very popular recently. As the name suggests, they send the package all the way home, often on the doormat or in the letterbox. When the package has been delivered, you will receive an SMS confirmation so that you know when you can pick it up outside if you were not at home (or were sleeping) when the package was delivered. HeltHjem often delivers packages at night, so you will often be able to have a package waiting when you get up.

When you send with HeltHjem, the first thing you have to do is order collection, you can do that easily online, after payment you will receive a code that must be written clearly on the package. This code is the only thing you need to write on the package, you do not need the name or address of the recipient.

You will then be informed whether you should place the package outside the door or in the letterbox. The package must be put out before 11 o'clock in the evening, and will then be picked up by HeltHjem during the night. Collection also takes place at weekends.

The exception to this home-to-home arrangement is if you order a large or extra large package. You will then receive a label by e-mail which you must print out and attach to the package, and the package must usually be delivered to a Postnord drop-off location. For all packages smaller than the "large" size, you will only need the collection code and the package will be collected from your doormat or letterbox. All packages under 5 kilos will qualify for such collection.

HeltHjem price

The price for using HeltHjem may vary slightly depending on which services you need. For large or extra-large parcels, Postnord delivers the parcel, in which case slightly higher prices apply. All packages that are medium or smaller (i.e. under 5 kg) will be able to be sent with HeltHjem. This usually costs around NOK 80.

There is a case where the price can be somewhat higher, namely if your address is outside HeltHjem's coverage. Some addresses will therefore not be able to send from their own home, and must instead deliver the package to a Postnord drop-off location, which normally costs around NOK 139. HeltHjem's price is somewhat lower than Postnord's prices. You will be notified if you are one of the addresses that does not have coverage when you order. If you live fairly centrally, this will probably not be a problem for you.

So in other words, sending with HeltHjem is perfect for you who only want to send a package under 5 kg, and don't want to manage delivering the package to a drop-off location. With a HeltHjem price of just NOK 80, this is a very practical way to send parcels. For larger packages over 5 kg, you will unfortunately not get the same price and user experience as this service is not provided directly by HeltHjem, but instead by Postnord.

HeltHjem send a package with a high value

Many people might think that sending a high value package using HeltHjem would be a bad idea as the package often has to sit outside the door for a few hours before you pick it up, but in fact there are several reasons to send valuable packages with Completely Home. An important thing to note is that HeltHjem always has insurance included. This insurance applies up to NOK 2,500. So if you are going to send a package with a value of NOK 2,500 or less, this will be very safe. In the unlikely event that something should happen to the package, you will have the value of the package covered.

If you are sending something very valuable that costs more than NOK 2,500, HeltHjem will still not be too bad considering that the chance of a package being stolen is very low. Having said that, it may be a good idea to choose another delivery company that can either insure the full amount, or at least deliver the package to a safe delivery location that requires ID upon collection.

There is no problem tracking packages with HeltHjem, you just go to the website and enter your tracking code. From there you get information on how far the package has come. HeltHjem is also good at communication and will notify you by SMS or e-mail when the package is sent or delivered. They will also be able to get in touch if they need more details to find your house, this happens in cases where you have not marked the house or mailbox clearly enough with the house number. As HeltHjem often delivers quite quickly at night, you will rarely feel the need for tracking apart from the SMS that says the package has been delivered, but it is still nice to know that you can always track your package if it takes longer than expected.

Conclusion

To conclude, sending with HeltHjem is an excellent experience for both sender and receiver. HeltHjem's price is also reasonable, in most cases it only costs NOK 80 to have the package picked up from your own home and delivered all the way to the recipient's home. For packages under 5 kg, HeltHjem will undoubtedly be an option you should consider the next time you send a package.
